If there’s a jewel in the crown of Stamford pubs in terms of a spot that is seen as a cut above, it has to be The George. With log fires and various rooms in which to relax, it’s a must see spot even of you don’t make it your pub ‘go to’. You pay for the experience, but there is a great selection of beers, spirits and wines, and if you’re hungry, everything from brunch to fine dining awaits you. The outdoors areas are impressive too (especially when lit up at Christmas!) and there are rooms if you’re looking for a place to stay. It’s a wedding often used for weddings and functions too.
