The Golden Fleece in Stamford, Lincolnshire is a traditional English pub in the heart of the town. The sheep market pub has a comfortable yet characterful setting and is a nice spot to have a pint or opt for tasty, reasonably priced pub grub .There’s a wide selection of drinks on offer too.
On occasion the venue hosts quiz nights, ensuring that there’s more on the Golden Fleece social calendar than a friendly pint. There are TVs too providing a nice spot for when the big match is playing. There’s seating out front of the pub, providing a view of nearby Georgian buildings as well as a great spot to watch the world go by.
The Golden Fleece has recently (late 2024) taken over by new owner John Regis and has been totally refurbished to a high standard, giving it a completely new classy yet relaxed decor (inside and out), feel and menu. Under previous ownership, the pub stopped being dog friendly, but we’re happy to report that it’s now once again dog friendly (on the non carpeted areas) so everyone’s a winner. Dogs are of course allowed in the outside area.
