Let’s face it every town has to have one. Love it, or hate it, Wetherspoons or ‘Spoons’ offers a good value night out (and meal if you’re hungry) at a time where pennies don’t stretch far. You’ll be looking a long time before you find pint prices cheaper around these parts, so it has its place in terms of a no thrills option. The booths can be handy for comfort or for more privacy say if you’re working on your laptop for instance. The interior of Stamford’s Spoons is attractive and as it’s the same menu as elsewhere, you basically know it inside out before you’ve even entered the establishment. There’s TVs, quiz nights and it can be combined with going to another pub as part of a cheap(ish) night out. Can’t be bad!
