From 2008 when it was rebranded from Bakers Oven, Greggs was a mainstay on Stamford High Street but it sadly closed in 2017. While it’s great to have artisan bakery options and the like, as a national chain and brand some have missed Greggs and as recently as April 2025 there were rumours that Greggs was returning to Stamford High Street (in the former Wilkos store). These rumours wound up being false, but the good news for fans of Greggs sausage rolls is that from 12th September 2025 Greggs is returning to Stamford at Morrisons Service Station (Uffington Road, Stamford, Peterborough, PE9 2FT)
Opening hours are:
Monday – Saturday 6am – 6pm
Sunday 7am – 4pm
The Greggs at Morrisons petrol station isn’t a large, all singing all dancing store (as in no seating), it’s operated as part of a franchise, but those iconic sausage rolls (vegan and otherwise!) and steak bakes will of course still be available to purchase, as will freshly ground coffee, breakfast rolls, sweet treats, meal deals and the like. If you’re lucky you may have received some free Greggs vouchers / coupons through your door. We visited on opening day, and it certainly has everything you’re likely to associate with Greggs, so it’s a nice addition, and return for those who enjoy this popular bakery chain option.
