Every summer, Tolethorpe Hall hosts an open-air theatre season presented by the Stamford Shakespeare Company. Usually running from June through August, each year the venue features two Shakespeare plays alongside a non-Shakespeare play in this faburlous Rutland setting, with productions performed in a natural amphitheatre capable of seating around 600 people. In 2025 Macbeth and Agatha Christie’s The Mirror Crack’d were real standouts. There’s also occasional outdoor cinema options, such as Augusts performance of The Greatest Showman within this captivating setting.
