Anyone tuning into the ITV’S Chase will be in awe of the ability of ‘The Chasers’ and wonder how we would fare if with our general knowledge were put to the test. The Sinnerman Paul Sinha has actually been to the London Inn pub in Stamford, only to enjoy a Sunday lunch rather than a local quiz. As has Mark Labbett. We’ll soon be going for the full set.
‘Where do pub quizzes take place in Stamford?’ I hear you ask.
The SHORT ANSWER to which pubs and bars in and around Stamford hold quiz nights:
– The Bull and Swan have a regular quiz night (every other Wednesday at 7pm – for reference there was a quiz on 26th Feb 2025). It’s for teams of six maximum (£2.50 entry per person) with prizes up for grabs and takes place in the outdoor ski chalet. Mention ‘Quiz Night’ in the comments when you book.
– The Stamford Post (Wetherspoons) have a Quiz Night every Tuesday at 7pm (£1 per person entry, no more than 6 in a group)
– The Bertie Arms just outside of Uffington hold a quiz night every 3rd Wednesday at 8pm (for reference there was a quiz night on 19th Feb 2025) players put £1 a prize pot that goes to the chosen charity of the winners team. Booking is advised.
Other pubs and bars which may occasionally or have been known to hold pub quizzes in the Stamford area:
– The Kings Head also hold quiz night from time to time (as well as board game, and retro games nights and the like!). I’ve no firm information on quiz times and dates though, so would advise checking their social media sites (Instagram and Facebook). I’ll drop them an email to find out more.
– The London Inn has also on occasionally hosted a fundraising pub quiz, but again it’s not a regular thing.
– The Jolly Brewer also occasionally has quizzes, card games and the like.
