There are a myriad of restaurants in Stamford catering to all budgets, cuisines and tastes, but the same applies to takeaways. Of course many eat in restaurants all over takeaway delivery so instead of giving an exhustive list here, we’ve stated a few options that we feel are a cut above.

Chinese takeawaysHong Kong Restaurant are a fine choice (you can eat in too), as are Wok this Way, but my personal go to suggestion is Umamis (43 Cambridge Rd, Stamford). Their online ordering is currently down but you can always call, and a novel yet effective approach they use is allowing orders via WhatsApp (the number is on their site). I find this to be super convenient as it’s easy to then repeat an order and there is no ambiguity as to what has been ordered. Good value too, the chicken and pineapple and salt and pepper chips and good options!

Indian Takeaways – There’s no shortage of Indian restaurants in Stamford, and while Bombay Cottage is a great (yet pricey!) eat in option, to my mind Kanchii (11 Broad St, Stamford PE9 1PG) also offers great food at a bargain price. Eating in, is both a treat and a pleasure, with good food and a great atmosphere. You can order a takeaway ( for pick-up or delivery) via their website, or ‘the fork’ app, and various delivery apps. give their Korma a try! There’s also Raj of India, which i’ve found to be somewhere between the two above takeaways.

Of course there are plenty of other options too. For an authentic Italian pizza takeaway, Pizza da Mario has you covered (they’re on food hub and others, and you can eat in – 1 Sheep Market, Stamford, Stamford, PE9 2QZ), Zorba deserves an honorable mention too.  Model Fishbar (52 Broad Street, Stamford, Stamford, PE9 1PB) does a mean fish and chips , and delivery apps extend your takeaway options to the likes of breakfasts, coffee and more.
